Area of Specialty

Mme Sylvestre teaches all levels of French. Mme Sylvestre is currently the French teacher at Ledyard High School. She teaches all levels of French. For the last 11 years she has organized a trip to Québec during President's Day weekend. Her future goal is to establish a 3 week home-stay program in France during summer vacation. Mme Sylvestre has not only studied in France and Québec but has extensive experience living in both places. She travels frequently with her family to both places. She is also a member of CTCOLT and has been for the past 20 years. She has pushed for modern language study to be offered not only at our middle school but also at the elementary level. She enjoys using technology in her classroom with her students and is always willing to help other staff members when needed.

Biography

Mme Sylvestre received her BA in French/Math at Muskingum College, New Concord, OH. while there, she also participated in a Junior Year Abroad program, studying in Paris. She received her MA in Education from UCONN, Storrs. Mme Sylvestre has been teaching French for over 20 years. She continually embraces new teaching methods and is always game to try new techniques.
